Today Joy and I had the chance to have a special “Mommy-Daughter Day”. We haven’t really had the chance to spend much time like that together since Micah was born 3 1/2 months ago.
I took her to a fun kids gym where they have trampolines, slides, inflatables, etc… We haven’t been there since last summer and she has grown so much since then I couldn’t wait to see all that she could do now. Her favorite thing was swinging on the trapeze. An adult would help the child hold on to the trapeze then let them go swinging out over a pit full of sponges. Joy was fearless and wanted to do this over and over. The hardest part for her was learning how to be patient and wait and in line for her turn which she even did really well.
After playing for a couple of hours at the kids gym we went through the Taco Bell drive-thru for our picnic lunch and had to track down some chocolate ice cream at a gas station as Joy is definitely a chocolate lover like her mommy and you had to have a treat on a special day. We then went to a Papa John’s Head quarters because they have a nice little park area to have our little picnic. We also brought some bread to feed the fish and ducks, which is always a thrill I remember enjoying as a kid as well.
It was a beautiful day so we ended up exploring the park area and walking on paths through some woods and making our way to the waterfalls that I was pumping Joy up to see. Only she didn’t end up getting as excited about them as I thought she would. She was much more into sitting down on the ground and playing with rocks. So I gave up trying to take our photo by the waterfall and started playing in the rocks too after all it was supposed to be about spending quality time together so if she was into rocks then so was I. :)
Joy - I enjoyed our special day together. You continue changing and growing so much and I’m trying to soak it all up. I’m so thankful to God for blessing us with your precious life. Even though you challenge us in many ways, Daddy and I can’t imagine our life without you. I love you sooooo much baby girl and look forward to many more “Mommy-Daughter Days”.
